Seg\u00fan&nbsp;<em>Monroe<\/em>, esto ocurre pese al fuerte crecimiento de la flota mundial: durante los primeros cinco meses de 2026 las l\u00edneas navieras incorporaron aproximadamente 800.000 TEUs de capacidad adicional mediante m\u00e1s de 120 nuevos buques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El analista destaca que la flota activa de portacontenedores aument\u00f3 desde cerca de 33 millones de TEUs al inicio del a\u00f1o hasta aproximadamente 34 millones de TEUs hacia junio, mientras el libro de \u00f3rdenes de construcci\u00f3n de buques alcanz\u00f3 casi 11,8 millones de TEUs, equivalente a cerca del 35% de la flota existente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bajo condiciones normales de mercado, este aumento de capacidad deber\u00eda traducirse en mayor disponibilidad de espacio y presi\u00f3n a la baja sobre los fletes. No obstante,&nbsp;<em>Monroe<\/em>&nbsp;sostiene que la explicaci\u00f3n est\u00e1 en la forma en que las l\u00edneas navieras est\u00e1n administrando sus activos. \u201cLa industria no enfrenta una escasez de buques. De hecho, est\u00e1 experimentando una de las mayores expansiones de capacidad de su historia\u201d, indica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A su juicio, la pandemia modific\u00f3 la estrategia de las l\u00edneas navieras, que dejaron atr\u00e1s un modelo basado principalmente en redes estables y participaci\u00f3n de mercado, para adoptar una gesti\u00f3n m\u00e1s flexible orientada a maximizar retornos. \u201cLas l\u00edneas navieras se han vuelto mucho m\u00e1s disciplinadas y estrat\u00e9gicas en c\u00f3mo emplean esa capacidad\u201d, explica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De esta forma, la menor disponibilidad percibida en algunas rutas no responder\u00eda a una falta real de buques, sino a decisiones operacionales destinadas a equilibrar capacidad, rentabilidad y desempe\u00f1o financiero. Para el analista, el mercado actual refleja una nueva etapa en la industria, donde la gesti\u00f3n estrat\u00e9gica de la oferta se ha convertido en un factor clave para determinar la evoluci\u00f3n de las tarifas y los servicios mar\u00edtimos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>El factor \u201cChina\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Por otro lado, el analista plantea que uno de los principales motores de cambio en la industria mar\u00edtima es la Iniciativa de la \u201cFranja y la Ruta\u201d de China, un proyecto de largo plazo orientado a modificar los flujos globales de comercio mediante inversiones en infraestructura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A trav\u00e9s de inversiones en puertos, carreteras, ferrocarriles, parques log\u00edsticos, zonas industriales e infraestructura digital, China est\u00e1 desarrollando conexiones comerciales entre Asia, \u00c1frica, Medio Oriente y Sudam\u00e9rica, con el objetivo de \u201creducir la dependencia de las cadenas de suministro tradicionales y proporcionan a las econom\u00edas en desarrollo un mejor acceso a los mercados globales\u201d, se\u00f1ala&nbsp;<em>Monroe<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Seg\u00fan el analista, estas inversiones no solo facilitan el intercambio comercial, sino que tambi\u00e9n consolidan v\u00ednculos econ\u00f3micos entre China y los pa\u00edses participantes.
