Este fue en s\u00ed mismo un a\u00f1o inusualmente fuerte, con el comercio global impulsado por programas de est\u00edmulo posteriores a la crisis financiera de 2008.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las tarifas promedio de las principales l\u00edneas navieras aumentaron entre un 14% y un 48% en el primer trimestre de 2024 en comparaci\u00f3n con los tres meses anteriores, impulsadas por las grandes ganancias de China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HMM&nbsp;<\/strong>encabez\u00f3 la clasificaci\u00f3n, con un margen operativo del 18,1%. La l\u00ednea naviera basada en Se\u00fal, que opera un 75% de su flota en rutas fuera del Lejano Oriente, superando al mercado, registr\u00f3 el mayor aumento en las tarifas, que aumentaron un 48% intertrimestral hasta un promedio de US$1.350\/TEU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Maersk<\/strong>&nbsp;estuvo al final de la clasificaci\u00f3n por segundo trimestre consecutivo y fue la \u00fanica l\u00ednea naviera destacada que inform\u00f3 un margen negativo durante el per\u00edodo. La divisi\u00f3n naviera del grupo, Maersk Ocean, registr\u00f3 una p\u00e9rdida operativa de US$-161 millones, equivalente a un margen de-2,0%. Si bien, las tarifas medias por TEU aumentaron un 23%, registraron una ca\u00edda simult\u00e1nea de casi el 6% intertrimestral en los vol\u00famenes, la m\u00e1s alta entre las principales l\u00edneas navieras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tarifas y desv\u00edos de las rutas impulsan la rentabilidad&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La comparaci\u00f3n de las tarifas y los vol\u00famenes transportados muestran que el aumento de las tarifas en rutas seleccionadas fue el principal, pero no el \u00fanico, impulsor de la rentabilidad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HMM<\/strong>&nbsp;y&nbsp;<strong>Evergreen&nbsp;<\/strong>informaron los mayores aumentos de tarifas y los mejores m\u00e1rgenes para el trimestre (la comparaci\u00f3n de tarifas de Yang Ming no est\u00e1 disponible), a pesar de que ambas l\u00edneas registraron una disminuci\u00f3n en los vol\u00famenes; (ver gr\u00e1fico abajo). Ambas operan el 75% y el 70% de sus flotas en rutas provenientes del Lejano Oriente, respectivamente y se debe mencionar que las cifras Container Trade Statistics muestran que las exportaciones desde el Lejano Oriente aumentaron un 16,5% interanual en el primer trimestre de 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En contra de la tendencia figura&nbsp;<strong>ONE<\/strong>, con el 66% de sus rutas con origen en el Lejano Oriente, pero registr\u00f3 un margen operativo del 5,8%. La l\u00ednea naviera aument\u00f3 las tarifas un 19% intertrimestral, pero experiment\u00f3 un aumento en los costos de los buques debido a la recuperaci\u00f3n del mercado de fletamento y a su alta proporci\u00f3n de capacidad fletada. Seg\u00fan&nbsp;<em>Alphaliner<\/em>, la compra por parte de ONE de una participaci\u00f3n del 28,5% en Atlas Corp, propietaria de Seaspan, que proporciona gran parte de su tonelaje, significa que puede recuperar indirectamente algunos de estos costos.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ZIM<\/strong>, que opera el 63% de su flota fuera del Lejano Oriente, tambi\u00e9n vio un fuerte aumento de tasas intertrimestral del 32%, el segundo m\u00e1s alto junto con Evergreen. Sin embargo, los costos de fletamento de su flota, fletada en un 90%, frente al 40% de Evergreen, reducir\u00e1n sus ingresos.
